Blueball Design just completed a fairly large and extensive Rapidweaver 3.6 web site www.charlieengle.com, using a modified version of our Blueball Designer Colors 36 theme and Rapidweaver 3.6. Charlie Engle is one of the world's best ultra distance and extreme adventure athletes. Last year he was one of the 3 runners who ran across the entire Sahara Desert (more than 4500 miles) in just 111 days for the first time in history. National Geographic is coming out with a movie this year on this incredible endeavor. There's a lot more on the site about Charlie, his races, and adventures. It's a fun site to discover, look at and read about Charlie Engle's life.

Blueball Design will be offering all Rapidweaver 3.5.1 theme upgrades to RW 3.6 for free to all registered buyers of our themes. Where possible, themes will get color style options. Some themes that use a lot of images in the theme layout will not. All of our themes will get everything else that's new in RW 3.6 added in.

We wanted to wait until RW 3.6 came out before beginning on the updates to make sure there were no last minute surprises added to RW 3.6 which might force us to do the updates twice.

We are working hard on the updates now and will send them out to everyone as soon as they are completed. In the mean time, all our RW 3.5.1 themes will work fine with RW 3.6 as they are. You will just not be able to use any of RW 3.6's new features and functions.

MaxLight now works correctly with Blocks and Collage (*Note: you must select the Image Border OFF variation when using these 2 page plug-ins for the images to retain their transparency). Both of the 2 custom image locations now display correctly.

We tried not to hype this theme much (although we got some unwanted attention when we missed the first release date) and as you know the styleswitcher did not make it into the theme. But here's some partial info on what's included in MaxLight:

So now we are trying to rewrite a new script that will allow the exported pages using the styleswitcher variation to validate strict so that RW will leave in the doctype lines. Second, 2 of the new features in this theme cause pages to not validate strict. They will validate transitional without any problem. We are working on the strict validation but may go ahead and release the theme and note that pages will validate only as transitional when these 2 variation features are used. We will work today to try to get them to validate strict on exported RW pages but will move on with the theme after this even if we have to leave it as transitional so we can get it out to everyone. We also have to write up the Readme files. We found out late in the afternoon on July 4th in an email from Realmac that the RW 3.5 public beta 2 has had 9 new css div wrappers added for styling the elements in the blog's sidebar. The display problem now happening for users of the RW 3.5 beta 1 themes is that the vertical spacing that had been included in the sidebar blog links in previous versions of Rapidweaver is now gone. It is not just our themes it is happening to, but with every third party developer's themes. Until the theme updates are sent out again, the only option is to manually add in some break tags to separate the blog link and the RSS feed lines.

When you receive theme updates from third party theme developers, those themes will have a new version number in their plist file code. This will result in the theme being loaded into RW 3.5 as a new theme. Your older version theme will still show up in the theme window along with the new theme update version.

Note that when you open your site file up that uses the older theme version in RW 3.5, your site pages will not be automatically updated with the new RW 3.5 theme update version.
You will have to select the new theme update version and go through each page in your site and apply the new theme and whatever variations you previously had in place.
Then save your file to a new folder on your hard drive with a new name so you will not overwrite your older RW 3.2.1 site file. To play it safe, I strongly recommend making a backup copy of your RW 3.2.1 site file before you start on any of the above.

The upgrades are completed for the following RW 3.5 themes as of now: Blueball Simple 3.5, Blueball Paradox 3.5, Blueball Classic Colors, Blueball Minimcal Colors 3.5, Blueball Phantom 3.5 and Blueball Kamino Classic 3.5. Ultima Colors and Hi-Def Colors will be completed tomorrow. Newzpaper and Premiere Classic on Saturday. The Designer Colors and Pro Colors will be later next week. We are basically developing the last two themes from scratch again so we can add in some new variations to them that have been requested by RW users.

We will be uploading the new themes that have been updated to our stores tomorrow and Saturday, and then will email out the updates to everyone shortly thereafter. The updates will be sent to the email address on file that each registered buyer used at the time of purchase. We will be including a new update form on our site later this week for buyers to use if they do not receive the updates or have changed their email address.

Until the final GM version of RW 3.5 is released, we will be including RW 3.2 and RW 3.5 versions of each theme in the downloads with each purchase.
